Hi Phil This is a bit of overkill on this form as you can only give the probate ref number and series number when you preorder. . As Bill said you can pre order 4 files. Its only when you get to order more packets while out at Kingswood that the 'fun' starts > > I went to the State Library and looked up the Probate > Index, located the > people I'm interested in, and noted the 6-digit number > for each of them. > What is that number used for in my order? Yes indeedee > > I presume that I select the Series Number as being the > date range outlined The very early wills are series 1, mid 1800s series 2 and later 1800's series 3 and all the rest series 4 .......... I wouldnt loose any sleep over it ! If any of these deaths with refs in the probate indexes falls between 1880 and 1958 there are deceased estate files .......... Inventories for the calcuation of death duty . These files are not straighforward to look up either, but well worth presevering with Take your money with you ..........
