Hi Chris, Darling st Starts at Balmain Wharf. I can rember visiting my Grandfathyer who lived in School St near the Wharf. The Trams could not Brake down the Steep hill near the Wharf nor could they climb up. They coupled onto a large motor box that provided braking and climbing power. Darling street connected Balmain - Rozell - Lillyfield and Leichardt. I think that the continuation of Darling St [Balmain Rd] was previously called Darling St. Leichhardt council has a very good historical section in its Library and they have old maps, rate books etc. regards Peter O'Donoghue
