    3. Dear Rex, The Sands Directory was published 1859-1932 and is now on microfiche. You may need to go to the Genealogical Society there to find it, but businesses have a listing. I do recall a bank with a similar name to that. If he was a Manager you will find his name recorded there, and possibly his residential address, as they did in the old days. 3. Thank you Bill, for this guidance. Although I do not have the Sands Directory I do have a very large collection of NSW Research CDs and Fiche. Your suggestion led me to the NSW 1904 Post Office Directory and there it was at 261 George Street with many branches throughout NSW. All I need to do now is find who bought them out and it this regard I will get in touch with Westpac's Archives, who are most approachable. As a retired Banker myself I have many ancestors in the Roberts line involved in Banking and insurance. In fact a G grandfather was Chairman of Colonial Mutual Sydney for over 25 years and was also mayor in 1879. He had a bit of an involvement with Sir Henry Parkes also. Thanks again, Rex -----Original Message----- From: aus-nsw-sydney-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:aus-nsw-sydney-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Bill Shute Sent: Sunday, 21 January 2007 7:24 p.m. To: aus-nsw-sydney@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ANS] London Bank of Australia Limited Dear Rex, The Sands Directory was published 1859-1932 and is now on microfiche.
