Hi Maria I might be a bit late with this assistance, as I have been in Sydney for six weeks , and so have a lot of unread mail to catch up on. There is a Parramatta and Districts Historical Society. You could give them a try! I am wondering if anyone has more details or a connection to the following family. My info so far is very limited. Parents - William LYONS & Margaret Mary CROSTON Daughter - Margaret LYONS born 1841 at Parramatta This information has come from Margaret's baptism cert. Her sponser was an Eliza Lilly. Williams occupation is a carpenter. I cannot find siblings or marriage of parents. Too many options to eliminate for deaths of parents. So I am looking for some assistance. I have tried a few shipping lists, but with no clue as to where they are from or if there are more siblings I am in the same boat. Many thanks in advance Maria Thomas LAKE MUNMORAH, NSW ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to AUS-NSW-SYDNEY-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message -- Internal Virus Database is out-of-date. Hi Maria I have two of the Parramatta DHS Family History Group's books, Parramatta Pioneer Registers "Foundation to Federation" and "Settlement to 1920". While I could not find the William & Margarets you mention, there are two other "William LYON" entries which could *perhaps* be related - so for what it's worth, here they are. They are both in the "Foundation to Federation" book, published in yr 2000. (1) LYONS William. Born 1808, died 31-3-1846, married Hannah (Ann) HYNDES nee CLARK born c1817 Windsor (parents Daniel Clark & Hannah). Issue: Robert b1837 Sydney, John b1840 Parramatta, Louisa b1840 Parramatta, Mary Ann b1842 Parramatta, William b1843 Castle Hill/Dural, Hannah b1845 Castle Hill/Dural. William arrived in 1836; he was a sawyer/labourer. (Entry contributed by Mrs Lillian Smith, "Noonameena", New Mollyann Rd, Mendooran 2842.) (2) LYONS William James. Father Jeremiah Lyons (convict). Married 18-2-1891 St Mark's Granville, Martha Adelaide PALMER. Issue: Ruby May b1891, Henry (Harry) Ernest b1892, Samuel b1894, William A b1895, Albert J b1897. These children born Parramatta. Edward O b1900 Waterloo, Louisa M b1901 Granville, Lindley J b1903 Burwood, Allan S b1910 Burwood. William was a butcher. (Entry contributed by Joi R Jenkins, 17 Myrtle St Loftus Heights 2232; and also by Family History Group, PO Box 3232 Parramatta 2124.)
