    3. Hello My ancestors are mostly English, but Great Uncle Bert, or George Bertram WHITE, went to Australia on the Osterley in 1909. He died in Darlinghurst, Sydney, in 1959. I know nothing about what happened in between, and would like some help. I know it's unlikely anyone will have any record of this individual, but where can I begin looking? 3. Hi Caroline There are quite a few places to search for him actually. For starters try the following - http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/ http://www.coraweb.com.au I'm in a hurry so have only given you two, but others on the list might have a bit more time to give you some more. 3. Do you know his children???????? You could look for their births etc on www.bdm.nsw.gov.au you might find some info on electoral rolls, census, take a look on the state records site www.nsw.gov.au there may be something there. You should be able to find something on him seeing it is so recent. 3. Dear Caroline, George has a Probate Number 499800 which is marked Eln. You can look at and copy this packet at State Records, KINGSWOOD, but looking at your email address that may not be around the corner.. Many people say that Eln packets do not contain much, but last week I found one with 21 relatives each making an Affidavit setting out how they were related to the deceased to claim part of his estate. Sincerely,Bill > Hello > My ancestors are mostly English, but Great Uncle Bert, or George Bertram > WHITE, went to Australia on the Osterley in 1909. He died in > Darlinghurst, Sydney, in 1959.
