As mentione dby others, the certificate contained little information about the couple, but I have been lucky enough to gather it from other sources. These two at least were both over 21 and the birth of their first child was a respectable time afterwards so I don't think it was a quicky wedding. The groom's family were however confirmed Presbyterians so it may have simply been a genuine case. Still on the subject of the Rev James, does anyone know if he performed burials? I have been unable to find a registration for the groom's father and wonder if the Rev's bad bookkeeping might be the cause? Thanks again for everyone's input.
