Hi Listers, I too have ,2, ancestors married by this gentleman. In 1858 and in 1881. There are few details on either certificate and so I contacted the Presbyterian and the Uniting Church Archives. I found that they operate together and that the Rev Fullerton was known to run a marriage shop with little regard to age or any other nicety. The reponse told me that perhaps the names and maybe the date were correct. Fullerton was apparently more than once in trouble for marrying under age girls. To: aus-nsw-sydney@rootsweb.com Message-ID: <727357.19288.qm@web35608.mail.mud.yahoo.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 I have a marriage certificate from 1872 that says the marriage took place in Elizabeth Street Sydney according to the rites of the Presbyterian Church. The officiating minister was James Fullerton. Could anyone tell me if there was a Presbyteraian church there in 1872 and if so what become of it? I can't seem to find one in that area now.
