Hello Listers, Thank you to all those who have answered my previous queries. I have an Edward Stenson Vernon MOWBRAY in my tree. To my knowledge he was born in Wiaopa New Zealand and died in Sydney Australia in 1909. I have found this record of a death which I believe to be his in the NSW database. The information matches what I have. 4191/1909 MOWBRAY EDWARD S V EDWARD S SYDNEY I have searched the newspapers nla gov au database and have come across this notice. >From the Sydney Morning Herald dated 18 May 1909 Woollahra Residents Death. Edward Mowbray, Lately living a Edgecliff Rd Woolahra, Died at Sydney Hospital last night under circumstances which deemed advisable to report to the Coroner. Deceased usually enjoyed good health, but on Sunday complained to his wife of a headache. After having tea the same night he went towards the kitchen,but fell and struck his head on the floor. Severe pains in the head followed and a doctor was called in, who ordered his removal to the hospital, where he died last evening. A certificate as to cause of death has not been given and the police will report the matter to the coroner. Where can I go to find out more about this matter and maybe confirm it is my Edward MOWBRAY? There seems to have been at least one other Edward MOWBRAY around Sydney at the same time. I have tried the Coroners database on Ancestry but it doesn't have any Edward MOWBRAY. Can anyone suggest where I might be able to get a coroners report or maybe the police report. I have found this record of a marriage which matches my records. As his first wife Eliza Ann WADHAM died in 1900 in Auckland New Zealand. 9263/1903 MOWBRAY EDWARD SV HARKNESS GERTRUDE REDFERN Is anyone else researching these lines?
