At a recent meeting at St. Peters Anglican Church Cooks River, great interest was shown in the history of brickmaking in the St. Peters area of Sydney. Conscious that many more may be unaware that their ancestors were employed in this area, the St. Peters Cooks River History Group have published on their web site a listing of all brickmaking families who have had a child baptised at St. Peters Church Cooks River during the period 1838-1899. This alphabetical listing gives: the date of birth of the family's first child baptised at St. Peters(not to be confused with the first born): the child's name and that of its parents: the surname: father's occupation and an abbreviated address.
