    3. Dear Joan, One figure is missing in your dates, and if I take it as 1896-1870 then you may find some records for Gladesville Hospital at State Records, KINGSWOOD. Alchololism was considered, probably still is as a mental disorder and chronic alcholics were treated in Mental Hospital, Gladesville Hospital being one of them. On www.records.nsw.gov.au there is an Archives in Brief (Help Sheet) on Mental Hospitals which will help you to find records relating to Admissions to them. There is a 120 year restriction on viewing these records, so you may have to get permission from the Health Department to do so. Permission is granted on the basis that you prove your direct relationship to the person admitted. Should you be asking about 1960-1970 then possibly you will not be able to view any records that are available. Sincerely, Bill > > I have come across a small 'badge' with "TREMBLE-KING-ALCOHOL + We shall > grow up+ > L.T.L. Could someone help me discover what this represents, please?

    3. Dear Bill, Thank you for your response to my email. Sorry about the date - it should read 1960-1970. Looks as though I am out of luck, however it will be worth a try. Kind regards, Joan. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, November 27, 2010 5:13 PM Subject: Re: [ANS] Fw: Badge > Dear Joan, > > One figure is missing in your dates, and if I take it as 1896-1870 then > you > may find some records for Gladesville Hospital at State Records, > KINGSWOOD. > > Alchololism was considered, probably still is as a mental disorder and > chronic alcholics were treated in Mental Hospital, Gladesville Hospital > being one of them. > > On www.records.nsw.gov.au there is an Archives in Brief (Help Sheet) on > Mental Hospitals which will help you to find records relating to > Admissions > to them. > > There is a 120 year restriction on viewing these records, so you may have > to > get permission from the Health Department to do so.
