Ada Mary was a daughter of Arthur Inman (1859-1940) and his wife Lydia (nee Grimshaw) (1861-1948). She and John were married in Sydney. John's background is that he was born in NZ, returned to the UK with his parents (his father Henry Rochester Breckels was b Essex 1863, and his mother Sarah Clemett was b 1864 Kaikoura, NZ) John had signed up to the Royal Navy in England on 14 Apr 1903, and sailed to Sydney aboard 'Prometheus' in 1907 where he apparently jumped ship. Two children were born to John and Ada, these children were registered in the Inman name: Arthur Clemett Inman in 1916, and Irene Kathleen Inman in 1921. In 1930 John and Ada (and I presume the children) where John is listed as a Farmer, but they are both listed under the name Inman. In 1936 They are in Griffith, still in the name of Inman, at Farm 1201 - John is a Labourer. In 1943 they are still in Griffith, still in the name of Inman - he is a Farm Manager at Farm 2345. In 1949 and 1953 they are in Gunnedah, at Hartfell Station, still Inman - he is Farm Manager. Then I don't know. Ada died in 1974, and John in 1975 and they are both buried in Katanning Cemetery in Western Australia - still under the name Inman. I would like to find anything about his desertion, but have tried nla with no success, and I'd like to know why they went to WA. Their daiughter Irene married Alfred Godfrey - she died in 1977 and is also in Katanning Cemetery, I assume under the name Godfrey. The son Arthur Clemett Inman died in Sydney in 1960. He had been married to a Jean Begg. Any ideas, advice, information very gratefully accepted Regards Jan Pottsville NSW
