    3. Dear Maree, I didn't suggest she married, just that the Salvation Army have had a lot to do with tracking children. There were a lot of "informal" adoptions about that time, some even advertising in the newspaper columns, in a discreet way. Do you know when and where she died? Without making any reference to any relationship, I wonder if in her Last Will and Testament she left the daughter something. Sincerely, Bill > Ok .. thank you Marg and Bill ... > thought I would try on the off-chance .. > > ..Bill, she didn't marry .. she died a spinster :( .. >

    3. Hi Bill .. yep .. she was born in Bowral in 1900 and died in Rosebery Sydney in 1949... was living in Harcourt Pde. I don't know a lot about her .. all I 'heard' from the rumour line in the family is that she was involved with a guy in the war and he was killed in the war and she ended up with the daughter ... thinking about it though ... seems strange .. cos if the dau was born between 1929 and 1935 .. they weren't war years .. so it might be a furfie .. That is all I know about her .. :( Maree >>>Dear Maree, I didn't suggest she married, just that the Salvation Army have had a lot to do with tracking children. 3. Dear Maree, I had a look on the NSW Probate Index and there is no Mary RICE there for that period. Could it have been at the tail end of the first war? Just out of BDM availability.
