An obituary in the Sydney Morning Herald 23 Nov 1867 reads "On the 11th instance, at his residence, Camperdown Road, Mr Christopher Marsh, late of Rose Bay, after a long and painful illness, leaving an affectionate wife to mourn her irreparable loss. His end was peace. Yorkshire and Leeds papers please copy" . This is the first reference to Christopher being married and am wondering if Ellen might be the wife of my Christopher. From what I can gather, (from transport records) there weren't too many "Christopher Marsh" Hi Scott Appears he came here on the convict transport John 11 in 1837 . Normal way his name should be written is Christopher MARSH per John 11. Back then the ships name was part of a convicts identity. No one has claimed him in http://www.claimaconvict.net/index.html He didnt leave a will. Bye MargM Sydney List Admin
