Greetings Linda The Balmain Tancreds were certainly Catholic. I have twenty of them buried in the Balmain Catholic cemetery I will keep looking for Mary's place of burial, I havent been able to find her at Rookwood, so it's not impossible she died in Parramatta and was buried in Balmain Edwin Punch is a bit more of a bit more of a puzzle, I can find no birth for either Edwin or Edmund, but there is a birth in 1869 for Ernest M Punch, with the right parents names, so here is my theory. Edwin/Edmund.Ernest's father, John Greenway Punch was a master mariner and presumably at sea for long periods and E Punch was born whilst he was at sea and the birth was not registered but following his death, probably in 1869, someone (his uncle??) registered the birth and arranged the funeral For my purposes I will assume he was buried in Devonshire St. I do appreciate your help with this and appreciate your interest all the best Patrick Callaghan PS I hope to pass 900 proven burials into the Balmain Catholic cemetery in 2011 and will probably publish my work towards the end of the year ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ross" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, January 12, 2011 8:28 PM Subject: Re: [ANS] Edwin Punch aged 2 & Mary Tancred aged 48 both died1868seeking place of burial > Hi Patrick > Mary TANCRED ; I have the St John's, Mays Hill and All Saints books and > she > is not in those.
