    3. Dear Jenny, People are not always at the address you think. I will send the results for both THOMAS, Alice and THOMAS, Margaret as well as HANSON, Frederick as a " elec_roll.csv " (excel or spreadsheet) so you can pick and choose. This will be an attachment, not to the list. Extensive enquiries had to be made to ascertain that there was no relative to pay, before the government paid for a funeral, and it was a very basic funeral. 3. Hi John and list It is my understanding that special application can be made to the NSW Department of Health for the health records of a deceased relative. I don't know what dates are involved. I was told in 2004 by someone on this list that you need:- *a certified copy of the death certificate *certified copies of birth, death and marriage certificates to prove your descendency *the full name of the hospital where treated. Apply to: The Supervisor of the Records Management Unit Director General NSW Dept of Health Locked Mail Bag 961 North Sydney NSW 2059 Email: nswhealth@doh.health.nsw.gov.au Phone: 02 9391 9076 Anyone using this information should probably not rely too heavily on the above address as it is now 2 years old. I haven't used it myself so cannot guarantee it to be correct. A phone call might confirm it. Also on CD and fiche > to look for his birth (C1873)death (C1929) Would appear he was b 1873 at Cowra and had one brother Otto Percy b 1880 in Sydney Their parents possibly married 1862 / 76 Sydney >and possible marriage information? Couldnt find in NSW records I do not know his age at the date of death. Around 56 yo He was the son of WILLIAM and ANNIE (ANNE) HAMILTON. (News about this couple would be good). 3. Hi John, The NSW Births deaths and marriages are on line at http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/ where you should find his birth and death. Why not phone the Medical Records department of Liverpool Hospital and ask them what the real story is about accessing their records, assuming the Asylum was part of the general hospital. They might be able to at least point you in the right direction. Happy hunting, Marie -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. A likelihood of marriage would be dependent on date of admission to the Mental Hospital / Asylum If you purchase either a death certificate or a transcript of the certificate you will find out where he was buried. It may or may not indicate what type of the burial. The certificate MIGHT indicate if he was married. Hospital records and / or death certificate might indicate a wife and children's names. The information would only be included if known, presumably at time of admission. I also found these children of William Leonard and Annie HAMILTON NSWPI PIONEERS SERIES - BIRTHS SURNAME HAMILTON GIVEN NAME(S) ALBERT C INDEX YEAR 1863 FATHER WILLIAM L MOTHER ANN PLACE OF REGISTRATION BERRIMA REGISTRATION YEAR 1863 REGISTRATION NUMBER 5402 SURNAME HAMILTON GIVEN NAME(S) LOUISA INDEX YEAR 1865 FATHER WILLIAM L MOTHER ANN PLACE OF REGISTRATION CAMPBELLTOWN REGISTRATION YEAR 1865 REGISTRATION NUMBER 7637 SURNAME HAMILTON GIVEN NAME(S) WILLIAM L INDEX YEAR 1867 FATHER WILLIAM L MOTHER ANN DENOMINATION PRESBYTERIAN PARISH SYDNEY,ST ANDREW'S SCOTS CHURCH VOLUME REFERENCE V18677984 45C REGISTRATION YEAR 1867 REGISTRATION NUMBER 0 [The above is definitely a Church Record, not a civil record] SURNAME HAMILTON GIVEN NAME(S) WILLIAM L INDEX YEAR 1867 FATHER WILLIAM L MOTHER ANN PLACE OF REGISTRATION BERRIMA REGISTRATION YEAR 1867 REGISTRATION NUMBER 6578 [The above is a civil record] SURNAME HAMILTON GIVEN NAME(S) FREDERICK A INDEX YEAR 1870 FATHER WILLIAM L MOTHER ANN PLACE OF REGISTRATION YASS REGISTRATION YEAR 1870 REGISTRATION NUMBER 19179 SURNAME HAMILTON GIVEN NAME(S) OTTO PERCY INDEX YEAR 1880 FATHER WILLIAM LEONARD MOTHER ANNE PLACE OF REGISTRATION SYDNEY REGISTRATION YEAR 1880 REGISTRATION NUMBER 1573 Liverpool Hospital is still in the same place it was in 1929. The 1929 records are most likely now in the state archives. UNFORTUNATELY hospital records are CLOSED for 110 years ............... HOWEVER, see the procedure if you want access: http://www.records.nsw.gov.au/archives/archives_in_brief_85_2146.asp My guess is that depending on how much or which part of the case history you want, will depend the ease of accessibility and willingness to do photocopies etc. If you just want things such as: name of patient name of facility dates of admission dates discharge/death it may be far easier than the detailed case records. Good morning List, Although our National Library holds on film, copies of the SMH from the beginning until the end of 1984, last week I experienced a frustration in attempting to find Death and Funeral Notices in the edition for Saturday 25 September 1982. The index indicated these could be found on page 108 but our film edition was only copied to page 70. Would some kind person when next reading this paper transcribe both the Death and Funeral Notices for my second cousin Edith Florence DAVIS [nee Nimmett] who died 23 September, 1982. The Ryerson Index records the SMH announcement being on the 25th September. Thank you. Rex M Roberts, Waikanae Beach, Kapiti, New Zealand.
