    1. [ANS] Footy grounds with memorials to soldiers
    2. Hi Listers, I'm assisting on a project that intends to write about communities and the ways they supported their football clubs. One interesting thing we are chasing is that some communities built grandstands (or pavilions) in honour of their war volunteers (any war will do but particularly World War One). We have found the Soldiers & Sailors pavilion at Port Fairy, the soldiers reserve & pavilion in Warracknabeal & a memorial grandstand at Port Pirie. Do listers know of any other such memorials? We are not interested in your typical granite memorial with names even if it is within a football ground or showground. We're really looking for a way that comunity facilities were enhanced with the use of money raised in honour of war volunteers. Of course there are also bandstands dedicated to band members who enlisted but the focus is the development of country football. Any help greatly appreciated. best wishes, Jenny Coates Melbourne's Unemployed in the 1890s http://home.primusonline.com.au/jennyc/Melbourne/ ________________________________________________________________________ Check out the new AOL. 3. From the Shorter Oxford English Dictionary. Factor. An agent, a deputy, a representative. Now chiefly Scottish. An estate manager, a land agent: a bailiff. Also a person appointed by a court to manage property. The word is still current in Scotland. I remember when my cousin was living in rented property near Glasgow, his wifey would use the term for the person who managed the property. It, in my opinion does not quite equate with real estate agent as it may only encompass part of the duties. Bob and Laurel Horton. St. Peters Cooks River History Group. I am looking for the children of William Archibald Gladstone SILVIA and Juliette M L SIMONSEN. They married in 1907 and Juliette died in 1914, so there is just a small time frame for any children.
