Hi Colleen Its easy to chat to someone off list or email them to thank them for something. Copy and paste their email address into a new email and then chat away Howard Newcastle Colleen wrote I find this digest mode suits me best but am having problems when I just want to answer a someone on the list 'off list' - it seems that all the 'thank you's' etc go onto the mailing list - takes up space and sometimes you just want to chat to someone 'off list'. How do you do this?

Hi! Rob, Thankyou for your help, My grandparents were James Richmond and maryan and Alma . Thelma and Edna were daughters. Edna married Stanley Bert Thompson in the late 30s. I was told. She died in 1965. . I don't know anything of their offspring. They lived around Marrickville when I was young. Again Thankyou .Gloria ----- Original Message ----- From: "the Fords" <rsforf@tpg.com.au> To: <aus-nsw-sydney@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, December 19, 2006 10:38 PM Subject: Re: [ANS] WILLIAMSON > Hello Gloria, > I have WILLIAMSONs in my tree but I will need a little > more background info to search. Can you give us an idea of what you know > about birth years or towns lived, grandparents etc that may narrow it > down?. > Regards > Rob > Central Coast > > >> Hi! HiDi! Thanks for your prompt reply, No I am not familiar with the Ryerson Index.. Thelma's parents were James Richmond Williamson and Marian formerly Shurey {nee Risk} My family lost contact years ago with most of our family. I think Edna married a Stanley Bert Thompson ,in the late 30s. It is difficult to find any trace of these sisters. Thanks for you kind help. Hello Gloria, I have WILLIAMSONs in my tree but I will need a little more background info to search. Can you give us an idea of what you know about birth years or towns lived, grandparents etc that may narrow it down?. Hi Gloria, Sorry Gloria, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it appears that your aunt is deceased. The Ryerson Index lists the death of a Thelma Ivy Stewart in 1989. She was 78 years of age and it states "late of Roselands". Could this by your lady? Her death notice appeared in the Sydney Morning Herald, you can get a lookup done. Are you familiar with the Ryerson Index? BDM lists the marriage of a Marie Edna Williamson to Keith Alan Thompson at Sydney in 1951. There is also a death notice for this lady. She died in 2002 aged 80, "late of Wentworthville". Dear Listers Since Rootsweb changed the software used for their mailing lists digest subscribers can get 2 formats of messages (A digest is the name given to blocks of messages in one download ) These now come in a single, to my mind unwieldy, list of messages or in a very similar format as before as little file attachments. I can changed this single list to little file attachments so to just single messages . All you need do is email me and say you'd like to change over This DOES NOT apply to subscribers who receive single messages
Seasons Greetings Bev In the timescale you are taking about thre were two cemetery's both generally known as Balmain cemetery, one was the Balmain cemetery which is now Pioneer park and which is referred to in another listers email, the burial records for this cemetery are held by the Local Studies section of Leichhardt municipal Library and if you contacted them by phone or letter, (or in person) Iam sure they would look up the burial records for you. Their address is Leichardt Municipal Library Local Studies Section Italian Forum Norton St Leichhardt NSW 2040 The other cemetery was known as the Balmain Catholic cemetery and regretably its records have been lost, however, I have researched the history of this place and am working on re-creating the burial register and will help if I can, the key questions are do you have the death certificates and were your people Catholics, if you are interested in following this line of research let me know and I will do what I can to help Patrick Callaghan ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bev Driver" <bevkenmh@dodo.com.au> To: <AUS-NSW-SYDNEY@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, December 15, 2006 3:59 PM Subject: [ANS] James family > Hi > > i'm new to this list. My Ovens Anne arrived from County Tyrone Longfield in 1841 onboard the moffatt aged 21 she was a spinner went to work in Yass and married Patrick McGrath who arrived from Tyrone in 1840 Hi Christine, You have a surname very close to my husband's relatives. The surname is Overend but when they travelled from Ireland (Belfast) to Scotland in about 1858, the surname was wrongly transcribed as OVERN. It was also transcribed as NEREND in another transcription. Was you Ovens always written correctly? Jennifer.
Thanks Marg, For me, it broke up a mundane sort of Sunday.
