    3. Marg, I have been thinking about it all and please don't go to any trouble. I had no idea it would be so hard to find these two. I suppose I should have known with a name like Smith. Thanks again for all the help you offered. genie

    3. Dear Marg, Thank you so much for the email and your kind offer, being a pensioner I find it hard to get information these days. I am not as young or as active as I used to be. Any little bit would be very much appreciated. I did check every thing I could find on the internet before I asked for help. I don't understand as I have seen so many people helping others on these mailing lists. Does it depend on the list or just the listers???? All I have is from the Ryerson Index and this shows Ettalong which I took to be up the Central Coast as the B D M index for Irene Frances Smith shows her death registered at Gosford. Thanking any one who is reading this Genie

    3. What documents show a person's country and date of birth for non-British immigrants, where the information is supplied by the person? The most obvious one is naturalization. Another is military enlistment. Do the forms for government employment such as railways, post offices show it? 3. Dear Rob, Thank you so much, I have no idea where they are buried, the Ryerson index shows Edward Smith as formally Ettalong, there is no entry there for Irene Frances Smith. Too early for her. I haven't been able to access any cemetery records up that way so far, I will keep looking though. There is so many other cemetery records available in other areas. Thanks again Genie

    3. Marj and listers. If any one is interested, I made a mistake with the Smith family. Irene Frances Smith, her husband was Edward Smith, died 23 March 1973, not George Henry. George was the father of Edward. I know the death certs will show the details, but as an aged pensioner I have to watch my pennies. Thanks to any who read this. genie

    1. [ANS] Matheson/Keating/Taylor/Hatton
    2. Beth Keating
    3. Good afternoon, I'm looking for listers with Matheson, Keating or Taylor connections in the Bellingen and Sydney regions. My Isabella Matheson (daugher of John Matheson and Elizabeth Behan) married Jim Taylor of Bellingen in 1919.). Isabella, born in Beechwood in 1878, d. of John Matheson and Elizabeth Behan, had previously produced one son Benedict Matheson (1901-1911 father unknown) and my grandfather John Keating b 15 July 1906 whose birth does not appear in the BDM. My grandfather's marriage certificate states that his father was a Walter Keating. (Walters's daughter Eileen married a Hatton hence the other listing). Those who know the family will know why this declaration on the marriage certificate is a contraversial statement and if true points to a delicate family matter. Is there anyone who can assist with this mystery? According to a dear relative Clare Snowden the old people all knew who my grandfather's father was but didn't talk about "family business" to the younger generation. Happy to supply more info off-line, regards Beth Keating

    3. Hi Listers does anyone know if there is a radio station that covers the Sydney area that has talkback suited to genealogy enquiries please? We have Radio Pacific here in NZ that on a Sunday morning you can ring in and ask for help regarding anything but it is used quite a bit for genealogical help and I have had great success making enquiries for family on it. I cant think of any other way of trying to reach family that is probably still in the Sydney region. cheers Patsy
