Hi! Rob, Well I checked my 1999 UBD and an old UBD I have and i am also not too sure of it but from my old and mature Membory i am sure it was the one opposite Arncliffe park near the RSL. I also couldn't find a Presbeterian church in the Books but i know for a fact that recent train trip from Sutherland to the city I noticed the COE church on top of the hill on Forest road which is very predominate and the Other church in Arcliffe off the bottom of Wollongong raod is still visible from the train. I did get into trouble one time when i about 5 years old and i went for a walkies down to the old Signal Box which operated the East Hills line transfer past Tempe station heading south. A kindly Police Office brought me home as I only had me Pajama's on at the time, Naughty boy I was and appropiatly dealt with by my father. I have now become a Railway Enthusiat particularly when 3801 goes past my place at Sutherland. I Digress Some hting to do with old age I am always told? John T. Dear Rob, This page from the NSW Parliament Hansard has a direct reference to the former Methodist Church at 70 Wollongong Rd http://www.parliament.nsw.gov.au/prod/parlment/hansart.nsf/V3Key/LC20031112040 For the map, go to http://www.whereis.com.au use the "show place" then "Places of worship" option just above the map box Cheers, Tony Moore (Castle Hill, NSW) @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ On 13 Apr 2007 at 18:51, The Fords wrote: From: "The Fords" <rsforf@tpg.com.au> To: <AUS-NSW-SYDNEY-L@rootsweb.com> Date sent: Fri, 13 Apr 2007 18:51:05 +1000 Subject: [ANS] Methodist Church Wollongong Rd Arncliffe Send reply to: aus-nsw-sydney@rootsweb.com > Hi List, > I am hoping that someone on the List has a knowledge of the churches in the Arncliffe area of Sydney. I know there is a Coptic Ortodox church still down at the end of Wollongong Road and it is actually more to left before you go under the Railway line there. As Regards Methodist Church there was on on Wollongong road opposite the Arncliffe Park just down from the Arncliffe RSl Club. I will Check My Maps and see what i can come up with,I have collection of golden oldies in the way of Maps. Regards, John T.
