    3. Hi Margaret, Perhaps you may have to look at the children's marriage certificates for information? This appears to be Sidney's marriage.... 9863/1900 - OLSEN SYDNEY J & OWEN LILLIE - WICKHAM NSW Perhaps Sydney's marriage certificate may mention his correct 'place of birth' which would give you a starting point. :) could this be Sydney's death? seems like nobody is sure Olsen's snr's 1st name lol 23579/1954 - OLSEN SYDNEY JOSEPH - ALEXANDER & ADA EDITH - NEWCASTLE I wonder if this is Henry jnr's death... 21630/1944 - OLSEN HENRY - SIDNEY & ADA - WEST WALLSEND Where do the names 'Wilson, Jones & Dawson' fit in? 3. Dear Jean, There is an index, I think at the Society of Australian Genealogists in SYDNEY, from a Cemetery within the grounds of the Coast Hospital, which later became Prince Henry Hospital, and has now been bulldozed and sold by our money hungry government for residential development. Part of the hospital was for infectious diseases, and it appears they buried them on site. Just might be worth a look. Sincerely,Bill >I am searching for information on Andrew OLSEN, died in the Coast Hospital, >Little Bay on 31 December 1898, Age 41. > He was born in Hillsenberg Sweden c. 1857, married in Brisbane in 1886 to > Ellen Callighan.

    3. Hi Alison Bothwell, I understand, is approximately 75 km from Hobart. A horse travels at walking pace at approximately 5 km per hour. If it were a heavy horse it would walk slower than a light horse and drawing a load such as a cart which might or might not be loaded would have an influence. Taking into account that the road was probably longer in the old days - around hills and through creeks, etc. I would estimate that it would probably take 3 days. It would all depend on the size of the load, the quality of the horse and the state of the road! Rest periods, and again the quality of the horse, and whether the driver was an easy or a hard man with a horse, would also be a part of it. I would say, 25kph with a loaded cart would be somewhere to start, but others may have different opinions. Hope this might be of some help. Cheers Noel

    2. Jocelyn Lloyd
    3. Dear Graham, In 1848 Wellingrove was a run of 50,000 acres on the Severn river near present day Glen Innes. Today the name applies to a township and to a parish in the County of Gough. A google map should pinpoint the town for you. At the back of my mind is the thought that in times gone by Wellingrove as registration district for BDM covered more than just the parish. Today one wouldn't consider it to be part of Tamworth, but back in 1839 one of my rels held a licence for a run adjoining Wellingrove and that property has often been reported as being at Tamworth. Name changes with time just add to the challenges. Cheers, Jocelyn

    3. Greetings Thank you for the replies. Its always hard to know if its best to keep the questions short or go for the long winded story. I have a brother of my GG Grandfather who was born in Melbourne in 1848 and I believe he died in Tamworth in 1938. Will purchase a certificate in the first instance to make sure its him. The death certificate may reveal more details, if known to the informant. The NSW index also turns up two marriages in the appropriate years and some likely births. The most likely marriage gave the district as Wellingrove, and I suspected that it may have included the Tamworth area. Glenn Innes isn't all that far away so that one looks like a good bet for starters. Having said that there is a more remote chance that he may have married in Vic, as there is a much later one there. The thought was that Wellingrove was an like an electoral district, or a county. I am not familiar with NSW geography. Just trying to avoid buying too many dud certificates. Thanks for the help. Regards Graham Melbourne. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Noel Wilkinson" <jacwil@westnet.com.au> To: <aus-nsw-sydney@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, April 15, 2007 10:27 AM Subject: [ANS] WELLINGROVE > Hi Graham > > Wellingrove is near Glen Innes.
