He married Annie Adler in 1886, at Petersham, NSW. Annie was born in 1866, Redfern, Sydney (daughter of Frederick Adler and Eliza Unknown). 1926 NSW Electoral Roll for Marrickville shows John living at 29 Francis Street, Marrackville, Occupation groom. Eleven children were born to John and Annie:- Amy F. Dart Stella E. Dart born Ca 1888 at Petersham, NSW. She married Arthur L. Catlett Ca 1916. Albert Arthur Dart married Mary G. Corrick 1921. Edwin J. Dart Walter W. Dart Arthur Henry Dart Minnie Doris Dart born 1898, birth registered at Marrickville. Minnie married Marechal N. Bragg in 1926. Frederick Charles Dart Mabel E. Dart Harry Adler Dart born 1905 registered Marrackville, Sydney, NSW. He married Belle E. McKenzie married in 1934. Stanley Gordon Thomas Dart. He married Voilet Elizabeth Cove married 1936.
