They are slow off the mark, but this is the only source of records for naval personnel available today. Staff Officer Navy Records Corporate Services Queanbeyan Annex Russell Offices Department of Defence Canberra ACT 2600 It will help if you have the person's service number, this in actual fact will facilitate a faster search, but if it is not available give them all the detail you can, place of enlistment, d.o.b., next of kin, etc etc even ships the person served on if known. You will have to understand that the Navy is the worst of the services at keeping records, where it has been politically expedient for the Navy and the government records have been misplaced, lost, thrown over the side even.
