HOSKING: 12 March 2005 - celebrating 150 years since the arrival in NZ of Caleb HOSKING, born to John HOSKING and Ann TRICK, on 24 Dec 1833 in Kingsbridge, Devon, ENGLAND. Caleb arrived with his brother Charles Trick HOSKING, Auckland NZ, June 4 1855, aboard the Rock City and settled in Waiuku in the 1860s, naming his farm Fernleigh. He married Sophia BARRIBALL in 1871. Descendants of George HOSKING and Mabel Gertrude BAKER, who arrived in NZ in 1910 are also taking part in this reunion. Caleb HOSKING was the great-grandson, and George HOSKING the great-great-great grandson of Richard HOSKING b.1723 and Zilpha WHITE, b. 1720, of South Brent, Devon.
