Hi, I am currently researching my family name of BAMFORTH. JOHN HERBERT BAMFORTH & his wife HANNAH (nee ROBERTS) came to Australia onboard the "PERICLES" in 1883 from England. They brought with them their 2 young children - EDA ALICE & GEORGE ALFRED NEWCOMBE. They settled in the ROCKDALE area & had their 3rd child - FREDERICK VICTOR in 1885. John's occupation was a SAILMAKER. HANNAH died in 1887 at Kogarah. John re-married to ANNIE TOUSE BANCROFT (born in QLD - daughter of Samuel & Charlotte). John & Annie had 2 children - SYDNEY (born 1897) & ANNE (born 1899). JOHN died in 1899 at Rockdale, before Anne was born. Annie re-married to HERBERT HOBDAY (occupation - MILKMAN). The children's marriages - * Eda Alice married THOMAS EDWARD ROBINSON in Sydney. (Thomas was born in Wallsend, NSW where his family were from) * George Alfred Newcombe married REBECCA JENKINS in West Maitland. (Rebecca was born in Stockton, NSW in 1890) * Frederick Victor married KEZIA HARRIETT GRUBB in Sydney. * Sydney married MARY HENNESSY in Bundarra, NSW. * Anne married ELY EDWARD ORCHARD in Bundarra, NSW. I would love to hear from any descendants of the above mentioned or any descendants from any of the spouse's mentioned & their families. I am in the process of writing a family history book on the family & need as much help as possible, especially in locating any relatives. I'm also after copies of any photos, info, copies of any documents available if possible.
