Joy, Yes there are - NSW probate indexes (available on fiche) go to around 1985 - available at many research centres in Australia but of course that won't help you in UK, and they aren't on-line. However, they are only helpful if someone left an estate of some description to have probate granted on. Unless someone else can get to them first, I can check them for you on Tuesday. If you would like to know what information is in the death notices you found in the Ryerson index, I may be able to check that later in the week - or perhaps next week.
