Hi List I am researching the following and their extended family: James John Randall McKenzie ROSS, Hannah McLEOD and their family , arrived on the Lady McNachten Sydney 28th January 1839 as bounty immigrants to work at Lyndhurst at Glebe as house servant and laundress. (Lyndhurst owner was a public servant, James Bowman, head of the colonial medical service. He had married Mary Macarthur, daughter of Elizabeth and John. Lyndhurst looked across the bay to the wooded cliffs of Pyrmont, which belonged to the Macarthurs ...) James ROSS subsequently lived at Balmain (?), Hill End and Tambaroora and his family had connections with Bernard Holtermann of Holtermann nugget fame.
