    3. Looking for information on George Stringer He was a Sapper 17710, in the Australian Engineers in WW1 His last known address was: Mrs E.J.Stringer c/o Mrs E Andrew of Swift Street WELLINGTON .....NSW His date of enlistment was the 11/12/1916 and he left Australia for England on the 10th May 1917. He was later admitted on the 27/8/1918 to Northampton War Hospital England suffering from Gunshot Wounds. He returned to Australia on the 14/2/1919. Whilst in England he met a Blanche Eileen Jarvis nee Mitchell in 1917 his name was used to cover up her illegtimate son Gordon Graham Stuart given the surname of Stringer, George was not however the father. I also wonder if the child perhaps joined him later in Australia, and also perhaps the mother, I can find no trace of her or the child having remained in England.
