Have posted this family several times before with no luck. Hoping it is of interest to someone on the lists at this time. William Earl BLANCHARD [1807 Truro, Nova Scotia-1886 Sydney NSW] & Helen CURRIE [ca 1811 Truro? -?NSW] A distant cousin in Nova Scotia, recently found a newspaper report of their marriage in 1841 in Chatham, New Brunswick, (Canada) even though no church records have been found. Their son JOTHAM [ca 1842 Bathurst, New Brunswick-1905 Maryborough, QLD] and his siblings, (not necessarily in right order): Sophie McLean [1845-1848] Possibly another female circa 1849 Sophie McLean [ca 1850-1877] m Thomas JOHNSON John McLean [?-1897] m Maggie FLETCHER Andrew Charles [?-1897] m Catherine BUTLER/BUTTER Charles Edward [1859-1902] m Elizabeth E MAY? Samuel [1862-1862] Sarah C [1863-?] Mary [1868-1868] William E [?-1884) m Caroline Ann STEPHENS Jotham was living in YENGARIE QLD when he married Lizzie Ann WEEDON in 1868. They went on to have 11 children. My children are descendants of his son Samuel Thomas (Tom). I've extensively researched this family for over 20 years now, and have their family's origins in America from 1637, but have never found (for certain) how they got from Nova Scotia to Emerald Hill in Victoria in the 1850's, thence to Sydney. However JOTHAM sometimes known as JONATHAN was presented with a cricket bat which stated "Presented to Mr J Blanchard on the occasion of his leaving Emerald Hill to go to NSW. 3rd August, 1861". Sometime between then and 1868 he moved to QLD. He was a prominent partner in some businesses in Ipswich and Maryborough. Also, have never found out if the NSW branches have died out. Never been able to connect with anyone from those branches. Anyone interested in corresponding? Wynnette Ford, formerly Blanchard, nee Mansfield.
