Hi Lorraine, You won't find any information other than baptismal registers in NSW before 1856. It became compulsory at that time to register all events, births, deaths and marriages, but before then, it was only Church registers that were kept, so it was the minimal information you have found. Deaths are even worse as they don't list the parents names unless you are extremely lucky. Unfortunately all the children you mentioned will not be found other than in church registers. After 1856, you can be unlucky too sometimes, as it took a while for the 'law' to catch up with some places and for some time during the late 1800s, the marriages did not list parents names and other very important data because of a feud between the church and government by the churches refusing to list anything but the names and dates of the married parties. That can be extremely frustrating too! Other states might have had slightly different compulsory starting dates, but they are all around that time period, and followed the motherland - Scotland began in 1855 and England started in 1837. As for the BDM CDs, they go past the 1905 cut-off and record births up until 1918. These are available at Family History groups and some libraries have them as well. I have them but won't be home today to do any lookups for you. If no one else gives you the information during the day, email me this afternoon and I'll try to do them for you tonight. Following is my query: Melissa, I am interested in learning about the NSW BDM on CD as my husband's grandfather was born there in 1847. I do have the baptismal record for him and his two sisters, but they do not tell me anything of the parents other than their names. His two sisters were born in 1849 and 1851. Do you have either CD as I would appreciate a look up.
