I guess I could try again -- who knows what may happen. My husband's great grandparents emigrated from England (about early 1840s) and had three children: John and Maria Brown Moore -- he was born in Ireland and she in England -- dates unknown for birth and marriage Children were: (1) Cornelius Alexander Moore born 01 Nov 1847, Parish of East Gosford, County of Northumberland, NSW and baptized in the Catholic Church 27 May 1849. They were living in Blue Gum Flat and John was a Sawyer. (2) Frances Eliza Moore born 07 Jan 1849 and baptized 22 Jan 1849 in The Sydney Wesleyan Church Methodist Circuit. They were living in Balmain and John was a constable at the time. (3) Sarah Louisa Moore born 07 May 1851 and baptized 19 July 1851 in The Sydney Wesleyan Church Methodist Circuit. They were still living in Balmain, and John was a labourer at the time. I have looked at the BMD website and there are just too many MOOREs and BROWNs to try and determine which might be ours. And, in fact, I have no idea that any of Maria's family came with them! Lorraine Moore Baton Rouge, LA
