Church, The Ward, Dublin, Ireland;daughter of John Glannan and Jane Stuart of Ward Co, 7 miles from Dublinand grand daughter of Thomas Glannan of "Newpark"; Mary b 1823 The Ward, Dublin d 10 January 1904 Canterbury Sydney NSW;buried 12 Jan 1904 Rookwood Cemetery NSW Hugh and Mary emigrated on board the Gilbert Henderson; Travelled out with Eliza Glinnan, Biddy McTiernan, Margaret McGlaughlan and Mary Furnene;arrived Sydney 16 September 1841 (13 September 1841); worked for Capt Francis Rossi, Superintendent of Police on his property "Rossiville" near Goulburn NSW for first 8 years; transferred to the Michelago Run, NSW owned by Capt Rossi where Hugh became overseer. Property taken over by the Ryrie Bros in 1854, Hugh and Mary remained on until purchasing 1st piece of land, 31 acres at ?1 per acre in 1861.
