Hello! I am searching for descendants of my ancestors Major William Kemp and his wife Maria [nee Blackiston]. Arrived Port Jackson 2 Dec 1837 aboard "Asia". Nine children, seven of whom were born abroad: 1. William Henry b. 1824 2. Robert Augustus Hadden b.1825 3. Frederick Richard b. 1826 4. James Hadden b. 1829 5. Maria Sussanah b. 1830 6. Galway Francis b. 1832 7. Ellen b. 1834 8. Arthur b. 1836 9. Harriette Anna b. 1841 Major Kemp was commandant of a military detachment at Port Macquarie for two years. He died in 1856. The Kemp family home was "Boonanghii" on the Upper Macleay River. It would be great to hear from other family members and pool info. I have a few photos and certificates I'd be happy to share.
