Hello List I hope you don't laugh at this request but... My mother recently gave me a photograph taken on either VE Day or VJ Day 1945 in Sydney. Among the celebrating crowds is my laughing grandmother. Here's the long shot...... It had to be in Sydney because my grandmother worked at Mark Foys and we think it must be nearby. It's taken outside a big old church with columns at the steps. Outside the church is a notice for an organ recital, but can't read the date or place. On a side wall is an old wooden notice board with a triangular top, and underneath in minute print looks to be the ministers name (unreadable of course) and information about service times. Looking up the street is a covered walkway over some shops. One of the shops has an obscured sign that says "?monds" (which I guess to be Symonds) I'm hoping this might job someone's memory. Unfortunately I can't ask my grandmother. Alison
