    1. [AUS-NSW-SURNAMES] BLANCHARD
    2. Graeme Ford
    3. Have posted this family several times before with no luck. Hoping it is of interest to someone on the lists at this time. William Earl BLANCHARD [1807 Truro, Nova Scotia-1886 Sydney NSW] & Helen CURRIE [ca 1811 Truro? -?NSW] A distant cousin in Nova Scotia, recently found a newspaper report of their marriage in 1841 in Chatham, New Brunswick, (Canada) even though no church records have been found. Their son JOTHAM [ca 1842 Bathurst, New Brunswick-1905 Maryborough, QLD] and his siblings, (not necessarily in right order): Sophie McLean [1845-1848] Possibly another female circa 1849 Sophie McLean [ca 1850-1877] m Thomas JOHNSON John McLean [?-1897] m Maggie FLETCHER Andrew Charles [?-1897] m Catherine BUTLER/BUTTER Charles Edward [1859-1902] m Elizabeth E MAY? Samuel [1862-1862] Sarah C [1863-?] Mary [1868-1868] William E [?-1884) m Caroline Ann STEPHENS Jotham was living in YENGARIE QLD when he married Lizzie Ann WEEDON in 1868. They went on to have 11 children. My children are descendants of his son Samuel Thomas (Tom). I've extensively researched this family for over 20 years now, and have their family's origins in America from 1637, but have never found (for certain) how they got from Nova Scotia to Emerald Hill in Victoria in the 1850's, thence to Sydney. However JOTHAM sometimes known as JONATHAN was presented with a cricket bat which stated "Presented to Mr J Blanchard on the occasion of his leaving Emerald Hill to go to NSW. 3rd August, 1861". Sometime between then and 1868 he moved to QLD. He was a prominent partner in some businesses in Ipswich and Maryborough. Also, have never found out if the NSW branches have died out. Never been able to connect with anyone from those branches. Anyone interested in corresponding? Wynnette Ford, formerly Blanchard, nee Mansfield.

    1. [AUS-NSW-SURNAMES] James Gooley and Bridget Bourke (Burke)
    2. Lisa Edwards
    3. Hi All I have just discoverd a new lead while researching my Great Grandfathers William Bourke/Burke b.1830's Tipperary Ireland heritage. William came out here from Ireland sometime before 1862 as he married my great great grandmother Bridget O'Brien at the Catholic Cathedrial in Goulburn in 1862. On their marriage certificate the witnesses are noted as being James Gooley and Winifred O'Brien. From information that i have recieved i believe that William's parents were Bridget Kilfoyle and Michael Bourke/Burke. They had two other children Brigdet Bourke b.1831who married James Gooley b.1824 Tipperay Ireland and Catherine Burke b.1831 who were all born in Ireland. Bridget and James were married in Goulburn 1856. They had eleven children all born around the Goulburn area, born between 1857-1873. I have information on the children of Bridget O'Brien and William Bourke but have not been able to go back any further until now. If anyone out there is interested in these families and would like some more information or maybe able to help me with my research i would love to hear from you. Thanking everyone for their time. 1. [AUS-NSW-SURNAMES] Charles James FAHY 1900 onwards
    2. ppratt
    3. Hello Listers, Has anyone come across the name Charles James FAHY in their genealogical travels? Charles James FAHY married Elsie Vera HOLLAND in Annandale, Sydney in 1937. Elsie was the daughter of Private E.J. Holland (b. abt. 1878 Leicester England) who had settled in Perth, WA. She was born in Leceister, England in 1902. As far as I know, The Holland's with their daughter travelled from England to WA about 1907. Elsie moved from WA, with her mother, to Sydney about 1932. I am trying to find anyone connected to this family. I know that Elsie's mother was a widow (at least that is what is on her 2nd marriage certificate of 1935). I also know that Elsie's mother died in 1953 - Sydney NSW. Can anyone help, please. Regards. Phyllis

    3. Hi Alison, The ship is listed in 'Log of Logs Vol 2' which mentions the Waterworth document. It has a reference of HRR (Historic Records Register) 628, Canberra, c/- Mr J L Carey,10 Kinleyside Crescent, Weetangera, ACT 2614. Now, I am not sure why this address is included - my guess is that he is the holder of the diary. I believe the HRR was compiled during the Bi-Centenial search. This version of the book was printed in 1993. If this draws a blank I'd contact the National Archives, Canberra and ask them. Or someone else on this list may have a suggestion. Good luck, Wendy -----Original Message----- From: aus-nsw-surnames-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:aus-nsw-surnames-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Alison Gregory Sent: Wednesday, 18 October 2006 11:01 AM To: aus-nsw-surnames@rootsweb.com Subject: [AUS-NSW-SURNAMES] Voyage SS Yeoman Can anyone help me find details of a document (not sure if it is a book or not) about the voyage of the SS Yeoman which sailed from England to Victoria in 1882.
