Hello List Recently I received the Marriage Cert for Alexander ROSS & Delia DUNK, they were married 1863 in Sydney. Alexander ROSS is recorded as being born at Cape of Good Hope. My husband think this is in South Africa, is he right? A couple years ago, another researcher gave me the info that he was born 5 Jan 1841, Sydney, with the parents Alexander ROSS & Caroline, the year, 1841 ties in with his age on the marriage cert. I have searched the NSW BDM's, there is a record V18411610 47/1841 ROSS ALEXANDER JAMES HANNAH, but clearly the parents are not the same. I am also not sure of a death date yet, I was hoping to verify his parents & birth, as there are heaps of Alexander ROSS' on the BDM's There is also 4 other children listed for Alexander & Caroline betw 1843 & 1853 Happy Hunting for 2007 Cheers Melissa CHAPMAN - Leicester Eng, CHILDS - Hampshire Eng & Australia, COLE - Kent/Sussex Eng & Australia, DUNK - Sussex Eng & Australia, GANNON - Roscommon Ireland & Australia, HOGARTH - Australia only, HOUGAARD - Denmark, HOOK - Huntingdon & Kent Eng & Australia, LANGTON - Leicester Eng & Australia, MONKTON/MONCKTON- Kent Eng & Australia, REILLY-Antrim Nthn Ireland & Australia, SKINNER - Kent Eng & Australia, TEGG - Surrey & London Eng & Australia -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Looking for assistance....I am currently researching my ancestors (Evans family) who lived and died in Coonamble during the late 1800s. I have records of the death of Johannah Evans and for 4 of her sons one of whom was my great grandfather Matthew Evans. He died in Mudgee in 1912. I am trying to trace the father of the family, Thomas Evans, who was said to be a surveyor. The family arrived from Tasmania in approx 1850, and Thomas was related to the early explorer George William Evans. Is there anybody out there who has information on Thomas? Diane in South Australia.

Hi June, Did you try the BDM by putting in Morris, then either the mother's or father's first name? That is leave out "Ellen". I've found many that way - either first and second names the reverse of how they were used, or Ellen as Helen etc. I begin with both parent's first names and if not successful, try only one. Worth a btry! Joan > > Jenelle, Thanks, tried that and I thought I had the right parents, > but it > came up with Ellen Morris death in 1889. same as birth year. Is there anyone out there who is descended from one of the three Littler siblings who moved out to Australia. They were William Agnes and Rebecca Littler and they were born in Lancashire. If you know of these three please get in touch. Carol Buchan
Hi June I have two families of MORRIS in Tumut on my database, did your Ellen marry, or were the twins born out of wedlock? MargaretB Lake Macquarie NSW Australia
Jenelle, Thanks, tried that and I thought I had the right parents, but it came up with Ellen Morris death in 1889. same as birth year. We know Ellen Morris had twins in 1918 Moree .N.S.W. So it seems as this is another brickwall. thanks June ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jenelle McCarrick" <jmac2005@tpg.com.au> To: <aus-nsw-surnames@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, December 13, 2006 5:00 PM Subject: Re: [AUS-NSW-SURNAMES] ELLEN MORRIS > Hi June, > bdm New South Wales on line, just google bdm new south wales, click family > search then click search historical indexes. > Jenelle. > > > Subject: [AUS-NSW-SURNAMES] ELLEN MORRIS > > > > > > > > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------ > > I am using the free version of SPAMfighter for private users. > > It has removed 6548 spam emails to date. > > Paying users do not have this message in their emails. > > Try SPAMfighter for free now! > > > > ------------------------------- > > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > > AUS-NSW-SURNAMES-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without > > the quotes in the subject and the body of the message > > > > > > > > > > -- > > No virus found in this incoming message. > > Checked by AVG Free Edition. > > Version: 7.1.409 / Virus Database: 268.15.17/583 - Release Date: > > 12/12/2006 > > > > > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to AUS-NSW-SURNAMES-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message > > > -- > No virus found in this incoming message. > Checked by AVG Free Edition. > Version: 7.5.409 / Virus Database: 268.15.16/582 - Release Date: 11/12/2006 > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- I am using the free version of SPAMfighter for private users.
