New to this list and I am trying to find any Batstones that may be in New south Wales. My great Grandfather was born in Devon and went to London in 1850's as a cabinetmaker to take up work in the piano industry. He had three sons and I can only trace one(my grandfather) and thought the other two may have come to Australia. After looking in the Sydney phone book and seeing there are Batstones there has prompted me to send to this list. Regards, Reg.

I'm looking for any information on the following people who lived in the Dulwich Hill area during the 1930's and 1940's. Eliza/Amy (Devine) Rose Coady who ran a boarding house on Wardell Rd near Kays Ave. Amy had two children Madge Rose (father was George Rose), and Lance Coady (father was William Coady). Does anyone have access to the Sands directory which would list where the boarding house was? Cheers Alison

Hello Di, I just looked at the BDM for NSW and there are two births for Sarah A ROLFE, one in 1856 parents are Joseph and Ann, the other is in 1857 with parents Joseph and Eliza. Unfortunately the information I have does not show where the event took place. One thing the NSW government did wrong when they made the information available on the net, they did not include the place of registration. Perhaps somebody has the CD's which show this information. There is a marriage registration for Joseph ROLFE to Eliza COLLINS in 1855, no marriage recorded for a Joseph to an Ann from 1840 to 1860. Have a look at http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/Services/IndexSrch.html best wishes Pat NSW ----- Original Message ----- From: D.Placas <dplacas@hyperlink.net.au> To: <AUS-NSW-SURNAMES-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, October 03, 2000 9:07 PM Subject: Sarah Ann ROLFE/THOMPSON > Hi everyone > > Having just received a marriage certificate for Sarah Ann ROLFE > to Matthew John THOMPSON 28 Mar 1878 Holy Trinity, Glen > Innes,' without ' the names of Sarah Ann Rolfe's parents I am > hoping someone out in cyberland may be able to help me. > > Sarah Ann was born at Wollombi circa 1856 > > I am more than willing to share any information with other > researchers.
