I am researching my grandmother's family from Sydney, NSW. John BARNES came out from Devonshire, England about 1840. He was a civil engineer and worked for years in the Sydney Morning Herald Newspaper office in charge of the printing machinery. He was about 70 years old on retirement and died at age 85. His children were Elizabeth, John William, Charles Sim, Emma and Edith. John William married Louisa Maude SIM about 1885. Their children were Helen Elizabeth (my grandmother), Enid, Madge, Laurence Sim, Cecil J, Roy W and Keith. Louisa Maude SIM's parents were Richard and Sarah WHITEFORD. If anyone is researching any of these surnames I would like to hear from you. Anne Rose

Hello Sandra I have a Katherine Eliza Tucker (Kate) who married William J Hartin. I do not have any details about her except she died in 1943. She had a daughter Lila May Hartin who was born in 1905 in Dubbo NSW, so I'd say she would have been born 20-30 years before in 1875-1885. Regards Alan

William Halloran BREMNER & his wife Ellen BELL arrived at Port Melbourne from Scotland on the vessel "Sirocco" with their three children in 1858. I have some information on some of their descendants, and would love to contact anyone who can fill in details and add more, hopefully down to the present day. I have succeeded in tracing descendants of Ellen's siblings Charles Napier Bell, Emilia Ross VON TEMPSKY and Jane Bogle, and can provide information on these. Regards Don Montague in England and pining for summer
My GGG uncle Frederick Augustus BELL (b.1799, married Caroline Cordell, b.1804) is said to have died in NSW in 1894. Does anyone know anything about this family (said to be six children) or what became of them? Regards from Don Montague shivering in England after two weeks in WA
