    1. Woops!!! GALEY (and MACDONALD) IN Australia
    2. Jim Payne
    3. I must apologize to all those people who read every message, but I know that many are like me - look at the Subject heading and if it doesn't ring a bell delete it and pass on to the next. All I can say is that I was so busy getting the details in the original message correct that I didn't check the spelling in the Subject line. Well as I said before :( I am looking for further information about any of the following (or all). They may be separate families but I suspect, and hope, that they may be related. The first GALEY was a convict who was transported to New South Wales, Australia - details below: Name: GALEY, George Age: 19 Occupation: Brass founder Ship: Earl Grey 2 Year: 1838 Birth Place: Birmingham, England The second GALEY was married to a George GALEY and she died in 1846 The third GALEY was Robert GALEY who married Agnes MACDONALD in 1884 in New South Wales, Australia The fourth GALEY (my wife's ancestor) could have been born in Australia circa 1839 or 1844. George Bishop GALEY arrived in New Zealand in 1850 - death certificate date In 1863 he was in New Zealand He applied for a miners right in Wollongong, NSW, Australia on the 1 January 1872 By 1875 he was back in New Zealand where he married Ellen STENT and raised the usual large family in Takaka, Golden Bay, New Zealand and doesn't appear to have left New Zealand again. (I would also be interested in making contact with any descendants of George Bishop and Ellen GALEY who may be now in Australia.) I would be very grateful to receive any information about any of these people mentioned above. Jim Jim & Bev Payne NEW ZEALAND jr_bjpayne@xtra.co.nz

    1. Adamson
    2. Avis Leigh
    3. Hi Listers, I have a family story of a Florence May Adamson born about 1895, had an Illigitimate daughter named Thelma May 1918. Florence is said to have died in a house fire about a year after Thelma's birth. Thelma was raised by Eleanor Box of Murrumbeena Victoria. The family tend to think Florence May adamson was a fictional character invented to hide the true identity of Thelma May Box. I have searched the online data base for the supposed birth & death of Florence May Adamson with negative response. does any know how reliable this is, or could sks do a quick check of the register for me. please. Many thanks, Avis Leigh, Melbourne.

    1. PERRY
    2. Angela Gibson
    3. Hi All I wonder whether anyone out there is interested in the name PERRY? I have a birth certificate for WILLIE PERRY, bn 24/1/1905 at 44 Morris St, Newport. Wales, UK His parents were JOHN AND AMELIA PERRY (nee SAXON). John PERRY was a Tram Car Inspector. Said WILLIE PERRY m ELLEN MARTHA LOMMATYSCH in the Registry Office, Cardiff, 26/11/1928. WILLIE was described as Coal Merchant's Haulier and his father JOHN PERRY (a witness) as a Coal Merchant. WILLIE emigrated to Australia soon after the marriage (so late 1928, early 1929). It is believed that he settled in Sydney. The only information is a Post Office Box No. from Kings Cross, and an undated letter to UK. He is believed to have died early 1945, but there is no record of his death in the NSW index. Has anyone come across this man? I would love to hear from anyone interested in the PERRY name Best wishes and Many thanks Angela Gibson Sydney
