Good afternoon List, The abovenamed was a world recognized Ear Nose and Throat Specialist who was born in Toowoomba, QLD on 30 Sep 1879 and died in Sydney in 1949. A specific date of death is unknown at this stage but because of his professional seniority I feel certain that the SMH would have published an Obituary in addition to a death/funeral announcement I would be grateful for any help that can be extended to me in this regard and of course would also welcome the opportunity to exchange data with anyone researching this well known name. Can anyone tell me if Narrabri or surrounds have a family history association or what other sites would help me in finding the elusive Charles Collins, born Middlesex, London, last heard Nowley Station January, 1878 in Narrabri where he registered his latest child William George Collins. I'm at my wits end. Jenelle [email protected]
While trying to find some missing McCarrick family, I came across a marriage for a Honor McCarrick to William Parker V1841391 25C/1841 District NC? AND Margaret McCarrick married Alfred Gifford 4497/1897, District Sydney, and DEATHS for Thomas McCarrick, 12735/190, (father - Thomas and mother Harriett). District - Balmain and Thomas, 125/1896 (parents unknown), District Sydney. Does anyone have these people in their tree. Jenelle [email protected]
RICHARDS, MCCLEARY, HARDGRAVE, NEWMAN, HARVEY, HURSTHOUSE, GRACE AND CAVANAGH. Most frustrating area so far has proven to be RICHARDS.My GGrandfather was George Richards who married Margaret Bridget Cavanagh at Maclean, NSW in 1886. There are no details of George's parents on his marriage certificate. I have no record of George's birth or any of his family details. I have spent thousands of hours looking for this man to no avail. My Grandfather Roy Barton was born in 1895 and on his birth certificate his father's age is given as 32. That would make George's birth around 1863. We also know that George spent some time in an orphanage (we think in Sydney). There is a record of a George Richards (aged 9) admitted to the Randwick Asylum for destitute children in 1865. This couldn't be my George (unless the age is recorded incorrectly.) ANY assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Janelle
Can anyone help with information about descendants of William Service.. He emigrated from Grillagh near Maghera County Derry Ireland about the 1860s and with his brother James set up produce stores in Oxford Steet Sydney near the Hyde Park Barracks and on the site of Kinchelas's funeral parlour/later night club. Names associated with his family in Sydney were Nimmo, Moon and Cohen. He and his family lived in Randwick. Philippa Scarlett

Hi Ann, I'm not sure if I or at least any my various family connections are of interest but; Ellen Lewis married Charles Edmunds in Hobart in December 1863. Her parents were William Lewis and Sarah Abel. She was born in Hobart in 1842. The only Dart I have was born in London in 1897 and married Ann Knights in Warrnambool in 1925.
