Judy, I have the Bega Valley Pioneer Register pre Federation and there are five Legge names mentioned Cyril E E Edwin Peach, Edwin (Ted) George Joseph William, Ruby E. This gives the details of who married whom and when and where and any children. You should be able to find a copy at most big Libraries, Mitchell, SAGS at the local Historical Society, if you don't live in Sydney. It will also give you the name and address of the person who supplied the information about these people. Good luck Judith K -----Original Message----- From: Judy GILL [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Saturday, 6 March 2004 10:31 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [A-NSW-S] LEGGE Searching for descendants of Edwin Peach LEGGE who came to NSW in 1863 from Somerset England. Dear Judith K Thank you for replying re Bega Valley Pioneer Registrar. I am the person as far as I know that put the Legge names in the book. I also have a copy as I belong to that Society and both my parents came for Bega area. Thanks again, I was hoping to catch up with other descendants as the Legge's had 12 children and my grandfather had 11 so never know who may be a list member these days. Hi everyone I am new to this list so probably rather premature in my request but I am not sure where to start looking. My paternal grandfather, Samual, was born illegitimate and his mother Rebecca remarried a Bolstad - at this stage no other information except that Samual took on the Bolstad surname Any help would be so much appreciated Ross in cooling Bathurst NSW
Hiya Everyone I am new to the list and i am wondering if anyone can help me out with this problem or have any info on it . I am in Queensland. I have a Thomas J March who married Mary Ann Noyes, Gundaroo. I can not find a death or birth for this person. He is believed to be the son of Thomas J March and Charlotte Thomeson Plummer but i have yet to prove this. Anyone who could give me any information on his parents i would greatly appreciate it. Just to make it a bit more interesting i will add that i have checked out the possibility of him being the son of Thomas and Charlotte. If he is, his birth is still a mystery. They were married in 1833 in England they came over to Australia on the ship Orantes arriving Sydney Cove 1838 . They had a daughter die on voyage but no listing of a son. They resided in Gundaroo NSW. But no listing of a son Thomas J being born. But in 1922 they have a son Thomas J as having died. So if anyone can figure this out. Let me know my email is [email protected] thanks heaps. Denise

It also makes me smile, wondering whether the connotation is a straight jacket or otherwise. Maybe just a smily face after it would suffice. and now for somehting totally unrelated: For any subscribers who DO NOT LIKE a bit a light hearted banter now and again, or who feel that they should rip bits off people on this list, let me remind you of something, I am actually List admin, and what i say goes, I tend not to appear very often, this list has some of the best people I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with online, and everyone gets on with whatever they are doing with no intervention from me, I just maintain any "backroom" stuff that needs admin attention, so if anyone has a problem with any email that anyone has posted to this list, take it up WITH ME IN MY PERSONAL INBOX [email protected] DO NOT RIP BITS OF ANOTHER SUBSCRIBER, you only get one warning for this as its totally uncalled for!!!!! your options are very clear, bring it to me and I will deal with it OFF LIST, delete the email that you don't like and forget about it, or you can unsubscribe!!! but the phrase "get a lfe" comes to mind!!! the answer to the question you are all now asking yourselves is YES, someone has complained to me about a subscriber ripping bits off another on this list!!! Unfortunately due to family bereavement I have not been around much and it was way past the event when I got to see it, nevertheless I am unimpressed about it, this list doesn't operate that way!! and NO I am not disclosing names. Finally, to any new subscribers over the last few (well quite a few) weeks, if you have not received a personal note from me welcoming you to the list, please accept my apologies, I usually do welcome you, unfortunatly, the family bereavement was preceded by a short but violent illness, and I was away caring for the person. I hope, that you don't feel that you are in anyway less welcome than anyone who did get a note from me, it was just a time issue on my part, and as I rarely have to appear on list It was not noticeable that I wasn't actually here for a while which is how it should be. thabks all for reading, and remember any problems, please step into my inbox, I can always access it from whereever I am as it's web based! >>Mellie has used this for some time and I smile every time I read it.Pointing out that it is a tagline I think would spoil the intention. Just my opinion. Robin. Canada.<< Mellie IS this tagline LOL, as I am in the mood for a bit of light haearted banter, ( can you tell I am stuck with my family tree!!!!) for those of you who don't know, YES it is a tagline LOL, for reasons I have yet to discover, my tagline appears to be very very well known around rootsweb LOL a lot of people don't remember me or my queires but they remember the tagline!!! I also get lots of emails from people who tell me that they have searched many heraldry books and can find no record of ANY coat of arms having buckles on the back!!! my "coat of arms", has buckles on the back, as it is actually a straitjacket, and if you spent anytime in my personal company you would probably agree that I need one!! on sunday last (29th) i went to the local history fair, and when people asked if I was "online" and who I was, the person I was with pulled my arms crossed around my back, (almost choking me I might add!) and the enquirer instantly Said "MELLIE" they all knew the tagline LOL!!! there are some strange folk out there!!! my other reason for using this tagline, is that my own coat of arms ( BENTON) whilst having a description on the internet and in books has NO PICTURE!!! apparently the coat of arms is still in use!!!! so if anyone has any info on this feel free to step into my inbox and enlighten me!! Hello, I have just joined this list with the hope of finding someone else searching for BLOM. Charles BLOM came from Sweden around 1850, he was about 10yrs old. He married Matilda Jane Huckle & they had 12 children. Charles father's name was also Charles BLOM but there is no mention of his mother's name on his death certificate in 1912. They moved around a lot as Charles appears to have been a miner & moved around the goldfields. Some areas they lived in were Parkes,Forbes,Peak Hill, Dubbo, Hill End, Mudgee, Bathurst, Goulburn & Lake George area. Later on around mid 1880's they moved to Sydney in the Waterloo area. Would love to hear from someone with BLOM connections. Thank you for reading this. Regards Betty Blom
