Dear Listers... We have a wonderful FLEMING/FLEMMING DNA PROJECT happening at the moment with over 25 results so far and another 6 or so in the process. If you are a FLEMING male or have a FLEMING male in your family who would like to particpate please email me. My brother WADE FLEMING has had high matches with FLEMINGS from Dromore Tyrone and Paisley Scotland and some that had lineages to the 1600s. The results are fascinating and as this project is a new one we are sponsoring the first 50 or so to get it off the ground. Normally the cost for a DNA Y Chromo Test is about $ US 225 but as we are into bulk we can do for $US155 so a considerable saving. If you do not have the funds we will find a sponsor for you... The goal to find kinship lines within the FLEMING/FLEMMING surname and to help trace origins with documented lineages going back to 11th/12th century. This is a way to help progress your FLEMING genealogy research and confirm kinship with different branches of the Fleming/Flemming Clan be they in Australia, NZ, USA, Canada, Ireland, England and Scotland or elsewhere. We have particpants from all of the above countries and I am now screening for new participants ..... here in Australia If you qualify as a biological FLEMING/FLEMMING male and have atleast 4 generations of family history and would like to find more connectons via the FLEMING FAMILY DNA PROJECT please email me with details and your snail mail address for a DNA KIT to be sent out. A painless process.... 3 min mouth swab - and then send back sample to Lab in the USA. Your cost if chosen will be only the cost of return airmail postage to USA.... once sponsorship runs out participants will need to pay for their own unless we can obtain more funding from the wealthier FLEMING Clan members who are willing to sponsor other's or donate to the cause. Between a family of 10 people the cost would only be about $US 15 each which is not too bad as you only require ONE MALE to represent your FLEMING branch so please consider.... get in early or save your pennies and come on board with this exciting project...... or perhaps consider sponsoring another FLEMING CLAN member should our sponsorship money run out. To day we have been sponsored over $8,000 Australian.... by a generous FLEMING in the USA. We hope to get more sponsorship from the FLEMING FAMILY BANKERS of ENGLAND and JP MORGAN FLEMING FINANCIAL COMPANIES of ENGLAND. If there are any FLEMING family business here in Australia who would like to donate to the FLEMING FAMILY DNA PROJECT please email me of if you wish to be participant. My grandfather had indicated that was his mother's name on his marriage certificate. He was named James William Millen/Miller, so your entry was of interest. Hi, I am currently researching my family name of BAMFORTH. JOHN HERBERT BAMFORTH & his wife HANNAH (nee ROBERTS) came to Australia onboard the "PERICLES" in 1883 from England. They brought with them their 2 young children - EDA ALICE & GEORGE ALFRED NEWCOMBE. They settled in the ROCKDALE area & had their 3rd child - FREDERICK VICTOR in 1885. John's occupation was a SAILMAKER. HANNAH died in 1887 at Kogarah. John re-married to ANNIE TOUSE BANCROFT (born in QLD - daughter of Samuel & Charlotte). John & Annie had 2 children - SYDNEY (born 1897) & ANNE (born 1899). JOHN died in 1899 at Rockdale, before Anne was born. Annie re-married to HERBERT HOBDAY (occupation - MILKMAN). The children's marriages - * Eda Alice married THOMAS EDWARD ROBINSON in Sydney. (Thomas was born in Wallsend, NSW where his family were from) * George Alfred Newcombe married REBECCA JENKINS in West Maitland. (Rebecca was born in Stockton, NSW in 1890) * Frederick Victor married KEZIA HARRIETT GRUBB in Sydney. * Sydney married MARY HENNESSY in Bundarra, NSW. * Anne married ELY EDWARD ORCHARD in Bundarra, NSW. I would love to hear from any descendants of the above mentioned or any descendants from any of the spouse's mentioned & their families. I am in the process of writing a family history book on the family & need as much help as possible, especially in locating any relatives. I'm also after copies of any photos, info, copies of any documents available if possible. Also, if anyone might know what areas I can look for in regards to the families' arrival, jobs, schooling, where they lived etc. Thanks in advance!! Regards, Karen Bamforth. [email protected]

The person in question obviously did not read her initial welcome to the list email which explains how to unsubscribe and people on these lists in general ...especially newbies need to realize that messages with long tails of extra "stuff" need to be cut off before sending back a reply to the message board...it is amazing what some people will send back....
