Hi, I am currently researching the BANCROFT family. SAMUEL BANCROFT married CHARLOTTE FLETCHER. Not sure when they came to Australia or if they were born here?? I only know of the following children but there could be more - GEORGE .F. died 1870 (George died in Sydney - he was an infant) JOHN .D. married ?? (John was born in QLD, I think??) FRANK.F. married MARIA BEEHAG (Frank was born 1871, Sydney) ANNIE.T. married JOHN HERBERT BAMFORTH (Annie was born in QLD) I know that the family came from Queensland to NSW around 1869-1870. CHARLOTTE died in 1894 at Rockdale (parent's - FRANCIS & CHARLOTTE). That is all of the info I have. I would love to hear from any descendants who may have info etc. on this family. My connection is through ANNIE. Thanks in advance!! Regards, Karen Bamforth. [email protected]

Looking for particpants in the FLEMING DNA project.... must be MALE and have a few generations atleast 4-5 of family history and be willing to take a simple cheek swab and send sample back to USA lab. We have a sponsor for those who get in early..... I am screening so as not to double up on families that we already have as we want to get a broad base from Australia.... so email me... [email protected] we have had 5 so far and the rest are from USA and SCOTLAND, IRELAND or ENGLAND so please contact me asap if you wish to be part of the FLEMING/FLEMMING DNA PROJECT! The money will not last forever - and when it runs out you will have to pay for your own unless you share the cost between family members.... email me if interested and we will get details of family history and send a DNA Kit out to you....hurry up and get on board! perhaps your DNA will match with someone in the USA or Scotland who has family history going back to the 1600? It could help you further your research or give some direction to it if you have come to a brick wall. It could help you find KIN on the other side of the world - who would also be happy to find you! Hello All, I am looking for the family of an Elizabeth Franklin, said to have been born in Campbelltown about 1835. She married a William BLACKIE at St Mary's RC Church, Sydney, 21 Dec 1850. I have not been able to find any record of her birth, but I think she may also have had a brother, Henry FRANKLIN, born about 1827 at Camden. Is there someone who knows anything about this family? Any help would be greatly apreciated. Thank you, Val Talbot
Hi Everyone Following my recent posting I would like to thank you all for your congrats and good wishes. I hope my story inspires everyone to keep plugging away looking for their elusive ancestors and their descendants. happy hunting many thanks and kind regards joy
Hi everyone I write with good news. Some of you may remember I was looking for descendants of Charles Henry Newton and Sarah Ann Hughes nee Genders. A little reminder; Sarah's children were Daisy, Lily, Coronella, and Robert Hughes. Coronella married Alfred J Campey and Robert married Ruby Trew. Charles and Sarah had 2 children Sarah Ann Newton born Lithgow 1890 married Harold Evans and Charles Henry Newton born 1892. I placed an advert in the Sydney Herald and someone recognised one of the Newton/Evans descendants and told him he was in the newspaper. I received a wonderful letter from them last week. A little more research and just this morning I have spoken to Coronella's grand-daughter. After a long trawI trying to find my family all the hard work has paid off. I am now organising a trip to Sydney will be there in July-August. This is to say a very BIG BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has helped, researched, offered thoughts and advice. I would never have got this far without you all there to guide me on the way. I really cannot thank you all enough. Extra special thanks go to Bill (Gold Coast), Alison, Robin, Julieann and Lynne who have gone beyond the call of duty. Apologies if I have forgotten anyone. Kind regards joy
