    3. Hi Helen Thank you for your email and for your advice re the Ryerson Index. I have emailed Joyce as you suggested and am hoping she can help. I have also emailed the archives section of the SMH to see if they can help. Death certificates are not my favourite form of info however my friend has now ordered it so we'll see what happens. Thanks again for your help and have a terrific day. Kind regards Julie

    3. Hi Val, There is an entry 241/1888 BLACKIE WILLIAM AGE 74 YEARS DIED SYDNEY SYDNEY You'd have to get the certificate/transcription to find out the details. Try Joy Murrin for a transcription. http://www.joymurrin.com.au/index.htm Cheaper than getting a certificate. Regards Robin

    3. Hi Julie, The closest one to Redfern would be Waverley in sydnmeys Eastern Suburbs. you have a douyble wammy here as he could have been cremated or burried, and depending on where his relatives lived he could have put to rest in any one of about 3 or 4 cemeteries. many now are burried in alwn cemeteries and a couple I know of are at Leppington and the other is out penrith way whic are many mile apart. It probably would be best if you followed Helen and Rhys advice Regards, Merv at warm Bunbaberg. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John and Julie Watt" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, July 02, 2004 8:39 AM Subject: [A-NSW-S] Nearest cemetery > Hi folks > Julie from QLD here again! > > I have found a death on the Ryerson Index for ROY FREDERICK HAMPTON late of > Redfern NSW 28 February 1983 published in the Sydney Morning Herald on 1st > March 1983 aged 56. > > The late Roy's age fits in with the year that my friends Dad was born. 3. Julie, If you contact Joyce Ryerson through the Sydney DPS site, she may be able to tell you from the actual newspaper clipping who the funeral was managed by and where the burial/cremation was to take place. If not in the ad, the Funeral home may give you the information they have. Including immediate family info. I say may, they may not of course. The newspaper clipping should tell you what you want to know. Rhys. > Hi folks > Julie from QLD here again! > > I have found a death on the Ryerson Index for ROY FREDERICK HAMPTON late of

    3. Hi folks Julie from QLD here again! I have found a death on the Ryerson Index for ROY FREDERICK HAMPTON late of Redfern NSW 28 February 1983 published in the Sydney Morning Herald on 1st March 1983 aged 56. The late Roy's age fits in with the year that my friends Dad was born. I am trying to find him for her and I believe this to be him at this stage. However I need proof. First I am trying to find the nearest cemetery to Redfern that maybe I could contact with regards to his details. Would SKS know where a person from Redfern most likely be buried please? I know ultimately a copy of his death cert may help but I would like something concrete before I inform my friend therefore has anyone on this list have any ideas where I could go next please? Thanks and have a wonderful day. Kind regards Julie Watt ?_?
