Hi there, I am looking for relatives of the following family - THOMAS EDWARD ROBINSON married BLANCHE WEBB on the 27th July, 1921 at Merewether, Newcastle. They had 4 children - 1. LESLIE 2. ROBERT 3. EDNA 4. HAZEL (DIED 1928 - Wallsend) THOMAS died on 5th APRIL, 1946 & was cremated at EASTERN SUBURBS CREMATORIUM. His address when he died shows as - 22 MEEK STREET, KINGSFORD, RANDWICK. THOMAS also served in WW2. THOMAS was born in 1902 in MOSMAN, NSW. His parents are: THOMAS EDWARD ROBINSON & EDA ALICE BAMFORTH. His wife Blanche' parents are: FREDERICK CHARLES WEBB & INA BLANCHE SOPHIA KNIGHT. BLANCHE was born in 1904 at BAIRNSDALE, VICTORIA. I don't know who the children married, but would love to hear from anyone who may know of the family or has some information on this family & their whereabouts. I am starting to write a family history book on my BAMFORTH family & ancestors & the ROBINSON family are a major part of this family, but I have no idea as to where I can find any living relatives. Also, I am after photos of the plaque of THOMAS at EASTERN SUBURBS CREM. & his address which was at 22 MEEK ST. KINGSFORD, if this is at all possible? Not sure if others would be near Thomas' plaque at the crem. Anyway, if anyone out there can help me with this or can give me some tips on how to find out some info, I'd really appreciate it! I do have another ROBINSON connection which I will post soon. Thanks in advance! Regards, Karen Bamforth. karentherese@ozemail.com.au

Hi Sally, Have you ever heard of another Wilcox family in Bathurst around the 1874 time frame? I have had an email from a lady, Marissa, enquiring about the reunion, but cannot place her ancestors in our Wilcox line. The earliest she has is a John Wilcox, married to an Elizabeth Binley. They had a son John married to a Martha Gerrish in Bathurst in 1876. This couple had a son Frank born in Emmaville in 1878. She says John and Elizabeth Binley married in 1827 but has not told me if this was in Australia or not. She is going to the State Library today to try to find more details. I don't have any of these ancestors of hers on my data. She says she has about 12 relatives all wanting to come to the reunion but if they are not our family, well, it would be good to find out first. Any clues? Dear Brian I have also just started looking at the family history - but try the Society of Geneaolgists who are very helpful (I don't know if they have a web site but try - otherwise theeir address is 14 Charterhouse Buildings, Goswell Road, London EC1M 7BA. And the National Archives at Kew, Surrey TW9 4DU holds birth, marriages and deaths records, so you may be able to trace relatives there. Good luck Anne
Hi Brian . They were Thomas Franklin Moore > and his wife Lily, nee Porch. They had a daughter named > Marion. They > came from Thurmaston in Leicester, Leicestershire, U.K. > They ran > quite a successful Timber Import Business in Sydney. I checked a few records and no luck yet tracing this family Need more info . Really where they come from is irrelevant . When born and parents names help now and whether Lily or Marion had a middle name ? Thomas wasnt in the Australian forces in WW2 and not in the on line National Archives data base or in the newspaper death data base http://www.rootsweb.com/~nswsdps/ Theres ref to death of a Lily MOORE aged 97 in 1997 ?? NSW BDM indexes on line ...... marriages to 1955 and deaths to 1975 www.bdm.nsw.gov.au > historic docs Bye MargM Beautiful Central Coast of NSW Need Help ? Try: http://raogk.org/faq-requesters.htm
Thank you to Lynda and MargM. for your information and sites. Thomas Franklin was born in 1899 to Thomas and Elizabeth Moore. Lily Moore nee Porch was born in 1900 to Frank and Ada Porch. As you can see it seems you may have hit the bullseye with Lily's death. It fit her dates. A photo copy of the obit would be very much appreciated. Thomas and Lily married in Jan, 1922. There is a possibility that Thomas and Lily divorced, but know one knows where that information came from. I only have Marion as their child's name. I have looked on the marriage site you gave me and there are two Marions that marry in Sydney. I must admit I fancy the Marion Maude to Raymond Clifford (1952) more than Stella Alice Marion to Andrew Duncan (1948). Don't as me why! It must be an English thing. Thank you again. Brian. On a baking hot sunny day on the Somerset Coast.

Hi List. This is my first attempted at overseas contact, so it's very long shot in the dark. Could someone please tell me how to find a family that came to Sydney in the late 1920s/early 1930s. They were Thomas Franklin Moore and his wife Lily, nee Porch. They had a daughter named Marion. They came from Thurmaston in Leicester, Leicestershire, U.K. They ran quite a successful Timber Import Business in Sydney. Hoping someone can help. Brian.

Hello Helen, Thankyou for that. John Bowden Firth married a Dorothy Eades, distantly related to me via marriage. All I have on him is that he was born in 1917, married Dorothy in 1942 at Parramatta and I have two children for them, Alan and Carol. My interest is more in the Eades line, so I have not followed up on the Firth line. I would be interested in anything further on this family as people often get in touch and its nice to be able to pass on information.
