Hello, I am interested in hearing from anyone whose family may have had some connection with the little historic slab church, St. Matthew's Church of England, The Oaks, NSW. If anyone has any little family anecdotes, connected with St. Matthew's, I would be delighted to hear from them. I have gleaned parish registers for early baptisms and marriages but they only state that the marriage/baptism took place in either the parish of Stonequarry (which encompassed Picton and surroundings villages including The Oaks) or parish of Narellan (which included Camden, Narellan, Cobbitty, The Oaks etc.) If anyone with an interest in The Oaks area can verify if any particular baptisms/marriages took place at St. Matthew's (called Oaks chapel in early records), I would love to hear from you.
