Hi Fellow Listers I have been looking at the infamous "Clarke Gang" from our part of the bush. I haven't been able to establish exactly who was Thomas & John's father. He is variously mentioned as John, Jack & Old CLARKE ! I would like to know if he was a convict ? Where was he tried ? What was his crime ? When was he transported & arrived etc, etc ? "Old" CLARKE's marriage to Mary CONNELL in 1839, is this proven ? It seems to me that, CLARKE before his marriage is in doubt ? And what is recorded after the marriage seems to be fact ? Please any good help is very welcomed. I have the book "The Bloodiest Bushrangers" by John O'Sullivan, 1973. And "West Limerick Families Abroard" by Kate Press & Valerie Thompson, 2001. The only convict marriage I can see is that between Charles CLARK and Ellen CONNELLY. This marriage took place in 1833. The only Mary CONNELLY marriage listed on the NSW register is to Peter WELSH in 1836.
