Hi All I am currently putting the above cemeteries on cd for sale (Photographed). I was wondering if anybody on this list has any connections to the above cemeteries and would like me to add their interests to the cd? Or if anyone has any burial details, photos on the area or any information they would like to share with me to add. I am going to try and get the burial records from the Bega Shire so that I can add all the unmarked graves as well. I know that the Bega Valley Genealogy Society has transcribed these cemeteries, but have not transcribe word for word. I am a member of the Society and will be donating a copy to them for their records and I hope to do more of the cemeteries in the area in the future. The reason that I am doing this was just for my tree originally but decided that I may as well photograph the whole cemetery and put it on cd for other people who cannot access the area. This is my 1st attempt so and hoping with everything crossed it works out. It will be index and fully searchable. At least when I have finished the headstones will be preserved. Thanks for reading this. Cheers Nardia Victoria, Australia [email protected]
Hello Nardia. What a great idea you have here. I would certainly be interested to know further details on the CD, such as cost -- perhaps you can e-mail me privately. Our family has two interests in Wyndham Cemetery -- the headstones are adjoining in the Presbyterian portion: the RAMSEY and BEARE ones. We do have another RAMSEY burial there which does not appear to have a headstone, probably because the father was going bankrupt about this time and could not afford one -- it is for Cecil Francis Vivian RAMSEY. (In the "Index to Death Registers 1871-1918 Held at Bega Courthouse" it shows his third christian name as 'Biban' - a transcription error I guess). He was born on the 15th of April 1889, and died just 7 months later on the 14th of November 1889. The death index shows that he died at Wyndham; and the Family Bible records indicate that he was buried at Wyndham. His parents were Francis RAMSEY and Rebecca (nee BEARE), and he was their first-born child. When they married 3 years earlier, Frank was residing at Wog Wog. Rebecca was a sister to the well-known Wyndham school-teacher: Mr Thomas BEARE. As Frank also had a bullock team and operated as a public carrier, it is possible that he was away whilst the child took ill, and that she went to her brother's for assistance. The headstone for James RAMSEY is Frank's younger brother -- who also had his own bullock team; which is beside Jimmy's wife Ann Adamson RAMSEY (nee REID). Adjoining these are the BEARE headstones. Thomas was the school-teacher; Sarah Ann (nee BAKER) was his wife. Edjar James was their 6th child; and Wallace Douglas was their 8th of 9 children. If you desire any further family details etc. on the RAMSEYs or BEAREs, please let me know -- and I will provide what I can. Congratulations again on a great idea. Best wishes for a successful project: ray ----- Original Message ----- From: "KNABAT" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, September 28, 2003 11:12 AM Subject: Towamba, Rocky Hall & Wyndham Cemeteries > Hi All > > I am currently putting the above cemeteries on cd for sale (Photographed). > > I was wondering if anybody on this list has any connections to the above cemeteries and would like me to add their interests to the cd?
