Hi, I am hoping somebody may be able to help, I am researching John Wearin & family. He arrived in the Illawarra district in 1837 with his wife Harriet & two children Harriet & Elizabeth, a third child John was born in Dapto. John Wearin Snr. was a colour seargent with the 80th Staffodshire regiment, and was annexed at the Illawarra Stockade between the years 1838 - 1839, upon leaving the army he became an Inspector of police in the Illawarra district and later in Sydney.
