    3. Hello Raewyn Either from NSW State Records (formerly Archives Authority of NSW) or from the Genealogical Research Kit which has been distributed to a number of regional libraries throughout NSW you will be able to access the Immigration Deposit Journals 1853-1900 (Immigrants Index) and (Depositors Index), the Immigration Board's Lists 1848-1891and the Agents Lists 1838-1896. They give fairly similar information. The Immigration Deposit Journals are on microfilm Reels 2668A-2676. The period between 1866 and 1874 is missing. They show the deposit paid by persons wishing to sponsor the immigration of a nominated person or group of persons, the depositor and the immigrant. The Immigration Board's Lists are on microfilm Reels 2458-2498 with the period 1860-1862 missing. They show name, status and age, occupation, native place and county, the names of the immigrant's parents and their address if alive, religion, read/write, the relations of the immigrant already living in the colony, state of health, remarks. The Agent's Lists are on microfilm Reels 2134-2143 and cover the period 1838-1896. They show name, status and age, occupation, native place and county, religion, read/write, remarks. You can also just go on their website - type in assisted immigration and see what you come up with. Good luck!
