As I am new to the list, I thought I would list my interests as follows: Looking for descendants of William Adolphus HANNON born c1834-1840. On his marriage certificate it states his usual place of residence as Monara. He married Catherine O'Brien in 1866 in Sydney and settled near Gosford and raised 8 children namely William, Sydney, Ernest, Arthur Leslie, Albert George, Camilla Kate, Walter and Percy. Camilla is my grandmother born around 1885. Also looking for burial place of Bridget Paul (nee Thornton) previously married to William Burke. She died at Krawarree in 1852 and burial certificate says Araluen/Braidwood. Does anyone have the burial register for either of these places. Also researching family of Emma Burke married James Cooper in Goulburn in 1849; and her sister Amelia Burke who married George Croft in Goulburn in 1845. Would love to hear from anyone researching the same families. Robyn Burke Callala Bay
For Monaro names I suggest the Back to Cooma index at: http://www.cooma.nsw.gov.au/monaropioneers/backtocooma/placea-j Pattrick Mould ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robyn Burke" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, April 02, 2003 3:15 PM > As I am new to the list, I thought I would list my interests as follows: > > Looking for descendants of William Adolphus HANNON born c1834-1840. Robyn Enquiries show she was not buried in Braidwood as far as we know. There is also a cemetery at Gundillion which is just short of Krawarree. It is being organised for records at present and I will find out if there is a record there. In 1852 the gold started as far as we can tell and the Snowball hwich is souht of Krawarree was alive as was Araluen. She may be bruied at Araluen if they went to Krawarree from Araluen. I have ridden from Krawarree to Araluen over land and it is a days ride. I will try to find out more for you. There were many unmarked graves and it might be difficult but we will try.
